BOO!

I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!!

Wicked green eyes
I hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
Nova told me almost two months ago that he wanted to be a bat. So I got right on ebay and found this cute costume for only $10! It was a really chilly night, so it worked out perfectly.
HPIM2374
He loved his wings!
HPIM2364
It was also Nova's idea that I was to be a witch, and Daddy a ghost.
Cool.
Nice, cheap costume year!
HPIM2362
Oooooo, creeeepy!
HPIM2371
Glad I had this black vintage coat, I was cold! Had this nice hat to keep me warm too~
HPIM2360
My son is really into skeletons. It's kinda making us wonder about him! LOL! He begged for this guy from Walmart, but I'm totally creeped out because it's "his" size~
HPIM2395
I'm glad Nova shares my love for costuming! Unfortunately for him, he is just as anal about details as I am. He wanted me to look EXACTLY like the Wicked Witch of the West from Oz, and was NOT happy with my hat of choice. He kept showing me to pull my hair back like hers and that it should be black. Too funny!
HPIM2314
The witch was fun to do. I'd never used liquid latex before, cool stuff!!
HPIM2356
By the end of the night I couldn't stand it any longer tho... only because my nose was running inside the fake nose, LOL!
HPIM2354
All good things must come to an end....
AAAaaaaCHOOO!

I can't believe it's been a year since we were Captian Hook, Peter Pan, and Wendy! WHEW! The time is flying by!

Back from Neverland!

WOW, last night was so nice! We got to actually show off our costumes instead of having to wear a coat or use an umbrella, woohoo!

Peter Pan was quite ready to go trick-or-treating!

Ahhh, who's this with the video camera lurking behind the plant?! Why, it's Captian Hook!

Wendy flew along too~

and Tinkerbell was along for the ride of course~
Most of our costumes were eBay finds. I did make friends with my sewing machine, and added lace to the Captain's jabot and cuffs. I cut off a pair of Kevin's dress pants and put in elastic for knickers. Nova and I are wearing *pixie* dust but you can't see it in the pics.
Wendy and Peter~

Stalking the "island" for candy...

The regal Captian Hook
A close up of Wendy's hair...
this was after we got home so it's a bit messy~
Nova was pooped. He didn't want to take off his costume!
I hope your Halloween was spook-tacular too!

I'll post more about costume details later! Have a great weekend!

Tales of a shoe hoarder.... Episode Six...

Happy Halloween!!
Boy am I letting y'all down on my shoe tales or what!? I promise I'll try to do better!

Here is a pair of WITCHY shoes! I love the heels on these. I bought these about 4 years ago. So much fun to wear on Halloween!

They are Demonia brand, and you can still find them~ there are different colors and styles as well. The heels are called coffin heels, bwah-ha-haaaa!

I don't wear these often, but they sure come in handy when I need REALLY tall shoes! My GWTW Portrait gown is too long for me, and I wore them all day with this gown twice.

This was taken at A Walk Back in Time two years ago. It's an event that has Civil War, Revolutionary War, WWII and Old West reenactments.

Here we are in costume for my home town's Sesquicentennial celebration. *AHEM* This is the day I found my headboard; yes, I was yardsaling in this gown! LOL! That's my mom next to me. We tied the headboard to the roof of my car and drove about 15 mph 5 blocks back to her house. What a hoot~

Tales of a shoe hoarder...

I am quite sure I am not alone in my crazed shoe collecting obsession. I don't know how many pairs I own, but over 100 would be a good guesstimate! I've been trying to remember what got me started on my shoe binge. I remember playing dress up when I was probably about 3, trying to walk in Grandma's high heels. And how excited I was when I could finally fit into my Mom's shoes when I was about 11. She had the coolest pair of leather clogs... OH! I wish she (I) still had them! I want to share at least one pair of shoes with you every week, so stay tuned!

No collection would be complete without these famous beauties~ of which I am sure flamed my shoe desire at a very early age!

*RUBY SLIPPERS*

I've made a few pair of these over the years. Just find a pair of shoes that have the "look", preferably red. Then spread on a layer of flexible glue and pour on the glitter. Cut bows out of cardboard and glitter those up as well. Finish with faux rubies of course!

Mommy and Nova

"Keep tight inside of them, their magic must be very powerful..."

Indeed! ; P
