...Afterall, tomorrow IS another day!

And I shall learn to blog! I suppose my first post trying to add photos should have something to do with the name of my blog. I'm a huge Gone With The Wind and Titanic fan. I adore the costumes and have many from each film. Some are custom made, or not finished yet~ trying to be as screen accurate as possible. Some are just garments that I have found and have tried to embellish them to look like the costumes.

Here I am wearing the "Flying Dress" from Titanic.

I had this custom made and went all out on the fabrics. Silk charmeuse and silk velvet, cats eye beads, and scrumptious lace. Much research goes into recreating these gowns. Just trying to match the velvet and silk charmeuse swatches was a challenge! My seamstress, Christine, is just wonderful to work with! http://www.ckhall.com/
The hand bag is an antique from the edwardian era.

Next I shall post a GWTW frock. This time I'll give an example of a garment I am embellishing. This is a red velvet dress that I got on ebay for $25. I know the original gown was burgundy, but hey... this dress had potential! It was a simple collumn dress with HUGE puffy sleeves. I removed the sleeves, added the stones, and by a miracle found a red velvet to match well enough to make a train. This gown is still in the works, but you get the idea!

Well that's it for this today folks. I'm still not sure what blogging is all about, and I'm learning... so please bare with and thanks for peeking!
