Tales of a shoe hoarder~ episode seven, and PINK SATURDAY episode twelve!

Happy Pink Saturday! Today I'm sharing a pair of 40's inspired pink faux suede pumps. They are made by Wild Diva. I bought them on eBay, I think they were around $12.99. I like to wear them with my favorite vintage late 30's to 40's dress.

Look past my incredibly goofy mug to see the scrumptious pleated organdy trim; edged in blue! I adore this floral fabric. I also like that this dress zips up the front.

This dress was old store stock, with the original price tag attached. $2.99! I think I paid close to that as well, I was VERY lucky. I still can't believe I won this dress for such a low bid. But that was years ago, vintage attire has really shot up on the bay lately!

I've worn this quite a bit, but most recently to a WONDERFUL occasion that is way overdue on my blog broadcast!

I wore it to meet the lovely Becca of Bluebirds and Roses! And what color did she wear do you think? PINK, of course! I have been internet friends with Becca for about 6 years now, and it was so awesome to finally get to meet her and her son Brad. Be sure to check out her beautiful blog, much PINK to feast on there too. You will see a great clip of Brad playing in his band. Such talented young men! And Becca is just as wonderful as you'd expect her to be!

She has recently started a Christmas blog as well, and you're sure to enjoy it.

Here is a photo of Brad and I. Doesn't he look suave in his pin striped suit?

He and little Nova got along swell.

We ate at The Old Spaghetti Factory in St. Louis. The atmoshpere is great there. Lots of antiques and old light fixtures. HPIM3473

For Brad, the atmoshere was exceptionally great that night; as a girl's sports team was dining next to us. He and Kevin joked about that quite a bit!

Another event I've worn this ensemble to was A Walk Back In Time last September. A few posts back I told about wearing Scarlett's blue portrait dress another year. They hold WWII, old west, Civil War, and Revolutionary War reenactments. My favorite is the shoot out at the OK Corral.
Here is a photo taken during one of the WWII episodes~

And yours truly in front of the tanks!

I leave you with one more photo, SO sweet! This was taken last weekend. We went out for a drive to look at the fall scenery~ and stopped to smell the roses!

Happy Pink Saturday.
What fun! "Period" clothing always looks so much better and more feminine than the modern t-shirt and jeans or sweatsuit.
... and the little one with the roses, So Sweet.

Okay my girlie friend. How'd you do your hair in the tank pics. Spill! Which Youtube id do I pull up. I am so getting into vintage hair. Too bad there isn't vintage size 20 clothes!

Oh, wow, you look fabulous. That dress is wonderful. The photo of you in front of the tank could be from a real period photo album!

You really look beautiful in that period clothing. I love that era too, I loved the way women dressed. I was just watching the movie Holiday with Bing Crosby last night, and admiring how the star dressed. I love the last photo, if only we could freeze time!

You're Invited to A Christmas Fair in Blogland on November 21st. Stop by and read all about it.

Happy Pink Saturday,

How fun. You look like you fit right in that era. It is funny because the little town I am in had a WW II reenactment today (near veterans day every year). I love to see the ladies most of all, because they are always in the styles of the day right down to the seamed hose. You look great in that dress. Nothing better than vintage

I'm reading this entry, thinking "I recognize that dress"!! Then read a little further, and sure enough, it's the one you wore when Brad and I met you for dinner!! What a coincidence that you posted about this, as Brad was just saying last week how much fun it was to meet you all and that he would love to visit you again!!
